Ottawa is a capital city in Canada.
There are many government institutions.
I sometimes find very important buildings next to grocery shops.
This makes me giggle :P because this kind of building is supposed to be surrounded by secure protection, which is mandatory in Japan.
Since Canada government gathers most agencies, the whole city is occupied by government buildings. Some are interesting like experimental farm land and mine areas.
By the fact that most buildings are hold by government, there are lots of government jobs and employees. They are same Canadian but look a little bit different from people who's working in private sectors. How different? They look more relaxed and enjoy their life than people who's working in private sectors.Since Canada government gathers most agencies, the whole city is occupied by government buildings. This does not mean they aren't working as much as private sectors. But they can stay and work at their job as long as Canada government exist, which means that Canada goes. One of good example is yesterday. We got hit earthquake which is magnitude 5.9. It's big one compared to the last one, which is 4 years ago. Most private sector people stayed at workplace and spend as usual working time for rest of day. I heard government let people who's working in public sector go home.
For the safety, government decision is correct. But private sector cannot stop their business by the accident if the current project is urgent. Private sector cannot exist without running their business. There could happen if the company is big enough to support such an accident but small companies are not. This is controversial between private sector and public sector.
Which sector do you choose to work?
Stay Tuned.
