10 emerging technologies

MIT released 10 emerging technologies. These technologies are under development but some of them might come out next couple of years. (The title is from the source and following comments are what I made.

1)Real-Time Search

I think this will come from the potential search engine of Twitter.

(2)Mobile 3-D
I'm not sure what exactly this concept says. It would be more powerful graphical processing unit on the mobile device, I guess.

(3)Engineered Stem Cells
This is true revolution. The medical treatment will be drastically changed by this technology. We can grow our critical body parts or organs and replace them if it gets injured. The operated part of your body will be covered by natural skin by stem cells too. There could be "forever life" if you keep changing all of your body and organ parts.

(4)Solar Fuel
The combination of burden crops, CO2, and sunlight will generate energy by bacterias. This is totally "green" energy.

(5)Light-Trapping Photovoltaics
This is the technology for the exsisting solar panel.
This special material will increase the efficiency of energy conversion by 30% and it's coming next 4 years as actual product.

(6)Social TV
I think this is already done by the internet.
YouTube and uStream are these.

(7)Green Concrete
Some venture capital already put money to develop this concrete. This concrete reduce the CO2 produced by as byproduct in the process of concrete.

(8)Implantable Electronics
This electronics is made from silk film......wao....It is bioengineering for the micro device that goes into our body and keep track of our health condition to prevent potential troubles like illness.

(9)Dual-Action Antibodies
It's a combination of two different types of antibodies to aim the disruption of growth of tumour.
This will be very hard since we have to know the side effects of each medicine and try to avoid the doubled side effects.

(10)Cloud Programming
Does this mean "Cloud Computing"?...No. This is new paradigm shift of computer programming.
As we know the nightmare of management of "memory pool" as professional programmer, it is hard to control the memory against the huge computer system. But cloud computing allow us not to think about memory anymore....I imagine...because all the computer resource is on the cloud and "memory pool" is almost infinite.....well it is not infinite physically but one programmer cannot write a program that will drink up the whole memory pool even he or she spend rest of their life.

You might work one of these areas in your academic project or job! (I will take 10 - Cloud Programming since I'm doing that as my job.)

Stay Tuned.
